My little wishlist for 2009 :-) first of all I will go end of january back to Morocco for a short inspiration trip....I just started working, too on my next summer collection "ranipink essaouira love" inspired and dedicated to all our friends in our beloved city of Essaouira....we will join the 12th Gnaoua festival there in june....my greatest wish is to make another fashion show this year in autumn and to share more time with my husband and my family....what are your wishes and plans for 2009?

merry christmas & happy holidays :-)

I wish all of you merry christmas and happy holidays :-)

...I wish to you a delicious cup filled with spicy cardamom mocca...I wish to you a glass of fresh mint tea....
...I wish to you plenty of time for relaxing with your family...

...I wish to you always best friends...and probably white christmas.....?!

...I wish to you always to find a nice place with a nice view...

...I wish to you a funny cat....
I wish to get better soon, just catched something like a heavy cold :-(...

oriental window watch :-)

It´s cold like ice and windy outside...colour therapy needed? Come with me and take a look....

..into my cozy studio and watch my favourite oriental style for the christmas season :-) like a sneak peak in a little bedouin tent made from fantastic batik patterned western sahara fabric...hot pink, saffron yellow and sparkling turqouise with a hint of gold against the grey and dark shades everywhere outside....:-)
...little oriental style gift ideas...soft mohair and silk shawls, treasures from silk with sparkling embroidery and luxurious jewellery...

...hot cardamom scented tea anyone? ...the cute little teapot djellabah is watching you ;-)

...relax with golden sequined moroccan Babouches between cozy pillows in bright colours...enjoy your weekend :-)

kitchen magic :-)

..it´s nighttime...I think we still have the full moon? It´s not that I can´t sleep, I am always sleeping very well..I am still listening fine gnaoua-fusion music at maroczik.com....some of the songs are very relaxing :-) ...and watching from time to time two very oriental full moons in our kitchen....
..the little cute metal lanterns spotted magic oriental patterns allover the kitchen walls...

...so I successfully done a little update tonight at my website, wrote a funny story in german about our last visit in Marrakech a few weeks ago and added some new pictures...I promise, if you watching those little lanterns (found in Marrakech) at nightime in your kitchen and listening gnawa music....you´ll get in the mood to write funny stories at the end....:-)
good night :-)

style of the week :-)

It´s time for my favourite style of the week :-)

..indigo blue wide denim pants and a simple black-indigo blueish jumper goes perfect with the silver silk belt, the handknitted extra large mohair shawl in one of my favourite colours teal and silver....and my vintage H&M caftan style coat with heavy glassbead embroidery...don´t forget the dark turquoise leather bag...one of my best morocco founds this summer :-)
I love this coat so much...just got it after more than 3 years back from a friend....and was wondering the last 3 years where the coat was gone....;-)

western sahara fabric :-)

I felt in love a few years ago with this beautiful hand dyed cotton voile....

...usually worn like a wraparound dress by the women in the Western Sahara. Colourful, light and airy...could be any dress more elegant and comfortable for the desert?

I created last summer the first double layered caftan dress from one of the fabrics, every piece is unique in colour and texture...the next, hot and sunny summer is coming soon for sure... ;-)

..this is one of my own favourite dresses, light aqua with a hint of light safran yellow and beautiful geometric bandhani style pattern.....it goes perfect with the lemon yellow silk scarf, a glass of fresh mint tea and the cute kitten ;-)

...this is my favourite found from my summer vacation in Morocco...the blue, blue indigo dyed cotton....fantastic fabric for new projects...I love the decent smell of salt and desert dust before washing it, carries me always away to the Sahara blue(s).....

oriental bread inspiration :-)

....fresh bread anyone?
...whilest we went out for some olive, garlic and spice shopping in the souk of Essaouira, this very friendly man offered me the most delicious, fresh homemade bread.

I am still fascinated by the colour scheme of this traditional moroccan bread (chobz) ...the colour scheme goes from ivory, cream, champagne, beige, taupe, cinnamon into clove and chocolate brown...this is so nice just for watching it...I imagined watching myself sewing double layered cream and champagne silk skirts decorated with some traditional moroccan lace and cute little buttons....and glassbead embroidery....isn´t this magic?

... just by some fresh bread, spicy olives and sipping fresh, aromatic mint tea....and enjoy your day :-)...ahhh and for my opinion... all the copycats should may be once take a walk through a moroccan market..and will find there so much inspiration for themselves, so they have no longer to "copycat".....!!

Essaouira house secret :-)

...a little house tower like a little kasbah with a great sea view, a hidden garden behind a blue, blue painted door....no windows...is there living anybody inside, probably the cats of Essaouira?

...every time I passed by, questions over questions to ask for....thousand an one thoughts are going through my mind....
I can imagine me in a little cute studio, colourful fabrics, old beads and my sewing machine in there.....sewing some nice caftans and hooded djellabahs.....listening to the waves and the sea gull...take a deep breath of the salted air....may a cute little cat visit me from time to time...the wind take from time to time some fine Gnaoua music sound to my ears....
...may I could plant a nice palm tree in the secret garden behind the blue, blue door like this huge one??... and a few little mint plants for fresh moroccan mint tea at any time I wish to drink....a lemon and orange tree....a blue, blue tiled fountain...the blue(s) is still with me....
May the blue, blue door will open itself at the next time I will passing by and let me know more about the little house secret in my beloved blue and white city of Essaouira :-)

ranipink goes morocco...

... and went last weekend to a secret place...somewhere in the palm grove of Marrakech...pssst!

...carried bags with beautiful pieces of jewellery and clothes.... and a pink pincushion with lots of needles and pins....visited a lovely lady and brought to her some nice clothes to try it on :-)...and made some nice plan for 2009....:-)
P.S.: the 10 cute Djellabah friends found a new home, too....3 of them are listening Gnaoua music whilest surfing on the waves in the windy city of Essaouira...and 7 of them are relaxing under some palm trees somewhere in Marrakech :-)

style of the week :-)

to all Americans who voted for Obama....after all the years with questions over questions like "what will happen next" and "if one guy start the next world war this could be probably...."!
The first sentence my husband told me this morning was not "good morning" it was "Obama is the next president" :-) :-)
This is so great!!! Thanks very much again!!!

style of the week :-)

...it´s getting cold in Germany.....

...time to wear my favourite dark green boots and my handmade seagreen coat from austrian wool...it goes perfect with my citrine silk skirt and the teal leather bag, found in morocco ;-)

... and it´s time to wear my favourite winter colour = black....and add some colour with my favourite blue sahara style scarf ...I felt like I just came back from a camel ride this morning ;-) ;-)
The black jodhpuri style pants are probably the best buy I´ve made the last months at H&M....I like the pants so much that I decided to buy a second pair of it......:-)

Henna :-)

It´s a long time ago...
wearing Henna on my hands....

when we spent a week in Morrocco in June, I decided to go to on of our friends in Essarouira, lovely Habiba for Henna but then I broke my hand at the day the Gnawa festival started (whilest picking some fabrics...this could only happen to me...) and after four weeks wearing the "stylish sahara blue" cast I had to start sewing the cream bridal gown....

...no Henna anymore until October......:-( It´s a long time If you Henna obsessed like me......
But tonight, baby.......tonight........lalalalaaaa!(please imagine some nice man with a cool voice who is singing this with a piano in the background.....)

I just made some special, very strong black tea with fresh lemon and prepared the Henna powder with some "mysterious" organic ingredients....:-) after work tonight I plan to do first my left hand with some beautiful, I think Berber inspired pattern.....and I love it to have red henna dyed fingertips....:-) :-) *lalalalalaaaaaaa*
P.S.: all this hands are my hands, I took the pictures through the last 3 years when I`d made very special patterns...

ranipink window watch :-)

lilac, purple, violet, lavender......the lilac shades are very, very in fashion this season in Germany :-)

so I decided last week to decorate the purple Kimono style shirt made from indian vintage Sari in my window. The shirt goes perfect with vintage jeans slim pants or white linnen pants for summer...or add some sparkle for a festive dress for the upcoming party season .....?!

I think the purple shades are going perfect with fresh light mint and a hint of bright pink, too...Germany need more colour :-) :-)

I am not lazy, but I wish I can find the "shop" where to buy plenty of time...I plan to refill my onlineshop with some new products, especially clothes, belts and some Sultanissima Jewellery...hope to can do it this saturday night....

That´s all from me for tonight, actually it´s here around midnight, sleep well and sweet dreams to all of you :-)

hamam favourites....

Two days ago opened a new, big shopping mall with lots of premium shops in Hannover. I visited this mall after work with my husband, Esra, Holly and her husband...and found beautiful oriental inspired towels from the German company moeve in bright turquoise and delicate chocolate brown.

moeve opened a shop in the Ernst-August-Galerie, too and they offer a huge range of high quality bath products like towels, bath robes and bath accessoires made in Germany.

The towels are from the very nice Alhambra collection, available with different patterns also in bright redish orange with safran yellow, inspired by the Alhambra on the Granada island.

my hamam favourites are also the mint and the rosemary soaps from zenza, found at Looms in Hannover, oriental body milk, orange flower scented found in Marrakech and a some precious ottoman inspired jewellery handmade by sultanissima, and ranipink ;-) moroccan inspired jewellery....

don´t forget my georgeous vintage copper hamam bowl from Istanbul, Esra found for me last year in the Grand Bazar.......she´s actually on the way to Istanbul, looking for fresh ideas and findings for our next projects coming soon....:-)

P.S.: looks like I am still in the sahara blue(s) with my favourite colours this autumn/winter ;-) ;-)
